VISUAL ART

My visual art is an exploration of emotion, presence, and the landscapes we carry within us. Through expressive abstracts, ethereal landscapes, and layered mark-making, I seek to capture the tension between chaos and calm, vulnerability and boldness. Each piece becomes a dialogue — with myself, the materials, and the viewer — inviting reflection, stillness, or a spark of something deeply familiar yet unspoken.

My practice is shaped by my background in acting and the Meisner technique, which centres on presence, authenticity, and truthful expression. I approach the canvas as I would a scene partner: with openness, honesty, and spontaneity, allowing the work to unfold in real time.

For me, painting is both discovery and response — a way of making sense of the world while holding space for beauty, imperfection, and the rawness of being human. My hope is that each piece not only complements a space but deepens the experience of being present within it.

“My Sails”

Hope sails on tomorrow

between the cliffs of my dreams—

Forever awaits

The beauty of life often lies in the unknown—the space between what we have left behind and what is yet to come. Hope quietly exists in that space, waiting for us to reach for it. While tomorrow, with all its possibilities, is always before us.

This piece is about breathing through the weight of the present moment, acknowledging both the rawness of now and the quiet beauty in what is. It speaks to the subtle, ever-present hope that even in the midst of the moment, there is always a flow toward something new—a path forward that is constantly unfolding.

It is about finding the strength and openness to embrace what lies ahead, whatever it may bring. It is an invitation to trust the unseen path, to see the beauty in the smallest moments, and to hold space for what is yet to unfold. Just as nature has the promise of tomorrow, so do we, it is always awaiting us, full of quiet possibility.

Held In The Storm

Acrylic on Canvas, Unframed

1200mm  x 1200mm

Available: $6,350 AUD

Framing available through Malvern Framing Gallery

Lease (Framed): $274/month

The surface is wild—blue and black pushing against each other, strokes that crash and twist like weather you can't control. It feels like a storm in motion, loud and unsteady, the kind that makes you brace. â€‹

But look closer. Beneath the chaos, there's a steady warmth. Copper flickers like a hidden flame—not destructive, but alive. A fire that holds its ground.

This work sits in that tension between fear and trust, between letting go and being carried. It speaks to the moment when surrender isn't weakness, but the only way forward. When the season shifts, and you don't get to choose the direction—only the courage to step into it.

Some viewers say they see the shape of a mother holding her child in the forms—a quiet shelter inside the storm. And maybe that's the truth of it: even in the fiercest waves, there is a kind of holding we can't explain, a strength we lean into, and a trust that leads us into what's next.

What Dreams Feel Like

Acrylic & Pencil on Canvas, Framed in Black

1310mm x 1360mm

Available at Malvern Framing Gallery: $8,050 AUD

Lease: $322/month

I see clearer with my eyes closed—clearer when I dream.

In dreams, my vision sharpens. Colours rise: bright, bold, vivid. They feel familiar, yet elusive. Nostalgia mingles with mystery. These hues and shapes are fragments of things I almost remember—safe, known, but somehow unknowable. They are my past, my present, my future. They are stories I can’t quite recall.

Some truths aren’t meant for analysis, but for the quieter side of us—the softer, more sensitive part.

Do you dream in colour too? Do you hear the whispers as you drift into sleep—waking in a field, a memory, a feeling you can’t quite name?

What Dreams Feel Like is my way of holding onto that fleeting place where clarity and mystery meet.

Can you see it too?

Monet's Garden

Acrylic on Canvas, Unframed

900mm  x 600mm

Available: $2,040 AUD

Framing available through Malvern Framing Gallery

Lease (framed): $100/month

In quiet spaces we breathe.

We remember.

We get lost.

We heal.

There's something grounding about the stillness of a garden—how colour becomes a language, how water reflects more than just light, and how silence carries a soft kind of comfort. Monet's Garden is my expression of that stillness. It's not a replica of his work, but a response to the world he created: a world where life slows, the air softens, and the body finally lets go.

In this piece, I wanted to capture the feeling of standing before something vast yet tender—brushstrokes that drift, hues that linger, and a sense of quiet that feels almost suspended in time. It's an invitation to pause, to be present, to let your mind wander down pathways lined with colour and calm.

This painting is my take on Monet's serenity, his beauty, and the view he once saw—a moment translated through my own eyes and experience.

Breathe Here

Acrylic & Pencil on Canvas

900mm x 600mm

Available: $2,040 AUD

Lease (framed): $100/month

There are places inside us that feel like weather — shifting, uncertain, full of movement we can’t always name. Breathe Here is one of those places. An internal landscape made of charcoal shadows and softened marks, it holds the residue of thought, the rise and fall of emotion, and the quiet that follows everything unsaid.

As I worked, the piece kept asking for space — more softness, more openness, more room for air to move. What emerged is a kind of pause, a clearing. A moment to come back to yourself.

This painting is an invitation to settle for a second, to step out of the noise and into the part of you that still knows how to breathe deeply. It doesn’t insist on meaning. It simply offers a place to land — a quiet, steadying breath in the middle of whatever the day has asked of you.

In that way, Breathe Here is less a scene and more a feeling:
a return, a grounding, a reminder that there is always space within us to rest.

Only The Ocean Knows

Acrylic on Canvas, Framed in Black

700mm x 500mm

Not Available—the Artist is enjoying this piece

“Only The Ocean Knows”

It took an ocean

to finally see, that I

was here all along.

This painting emerged from a quiet longing—to be seen, to understand, to return. I didn’t go looking for answers, only for somewhere to rest. But in the shifting weight of water and sky, in the slow, moody layering of paint, something revealed itself: a sense of presence I hadn’t realised I’d lost.

The ocean, in its silence, became a witness. A mirror. A companion. The haiku surfaced as the painting neared completion, a fragment of clarity carried in by the tide.

This work is about that moment—when the noise quiets, the waves pause, and you recognise yourself again. Not changed, but remembered.

Dream Clouds

Acrylic on Canvas, Framed in White

1995mm x 1295mm

Available at Malvern Framing Gallery: $10,595 AUD

Lease (framed): $424/month

On the wings of reality, we are carried through time.

Day after day—the familiar, the known, the serious grey of the mundane.

Yet in the cracks and crevices, there are signs of life. Of something else entirely.

For those who dare to look, something bright and beautiful breaks through.

At once mysterious and as familiar as breath—colour, beauty, spontaneity.

It floats into reality like dream clouds, offering nourishment to the soul, as rain does to the soil. Not just bringing contrast—like life from death—but calling us into places more honest than reality dares to be.

Why, in all this beauty, does it hide behind the veil?

Mostly unseen, yet somehow deeply known by every living thing—

as though this other place were the very source of life itself. Maybe that’s the truth of the mystery.

Maybe if we looked—not with our heads, but with something more true—we’d find life less grey. More beautiful. Nourishing, even. Let us not lose the childlike urge to peer into the cracks of reality to find our dream cloud.

Let us not forget to look beyond the mundane.

When The Light Breaks Through

Acrylic on Canvas, Unframed

1200mm  x 900mm

Available: $ AUD

Framing available through Malvern Framing Gallery

Lease (framed): $206/month

It is human to experience the dark. Not just when the sun goes down, but the other dark too.

Intuitively we know, it is always there, always lurking, always waiting, always trying to draw us in.

It is not always a heavy, soupy, black. But, sometimes it is—unnatural, deadly.

Naturally, we know it is threatening, that it is not for us, that it is counter intuitive to the life that pumps through our very veins.

We all experience the darkness, when it creeps its way in.

And yet, in all the reality of darkness, there is always the light. And no matter how dark a place, when light is introduced, the dark becomes a little lighter.

Light always breaks through the darkness. It is what light does, it is its nature. To abolish the darkness. To transform. To define.

Under the light things find their true form. Their edges are defined. They are identified. No longer distortions but true.

It is human to experience the light. Not just when the sun rises, but the other light too.

Intuitively we know, it is always there, always appearing, always waiting, always trying to draw us in.

It is not always a light, clarifying, revelation. But, sometimes it is—spectacular, indescribable, a display to behold.

Naturally, we know it is nurturing, that it is for us, that it is essential to sustain life itself.

We all experience the light, when it shines upon and within.

This is what I imagine when the Light breaks through...

“Wildfire”

Wildfire takes my brush

and burns black into the page.

I step back and breathe...

Created in a moment of instinct, where the brush moved before I had time to think. Working with acrylic and charcoal, I let the marks unfold through impulse — quick, sweeping gestures that carried more energy than intention. The piece holds the tension between release and lift: the heat of a feeling rising, and the breath that follows.

As the layers built, an unexpected focal point emerged — a bird-like form cutting through the movement. It wasn’t planned, but it felt true, as if the painting revealed its own direction. That sense of rising out of the chaos, of something taking shape in the middle of the wildness, is at the heart of this work.

The accompanying poem speaks to the fire that first moved the brush, while the painting itself carries the moment after — the clarity, the opening, the invitation to fly. “Fly With Me” is about following that pull toward freedom, instinct, and motion, and allowing what’s unplanned to become the centre of the story.
